To ask the Scottish Government what (a) policy and (b) guidance the NHS has regarding the return of hospital equipment that is lent to patients.

The Scottish Government issued Guidance on the Provision of Equipment and Adaptations in 2009. This guidance emphasises the importance of recycling community equipment. We have also published a report highlighting the benefits and savings to be made through effective recycling. These documents, and other resources developed to support partnerships are available here - http://www.gov.scot/Topics/Health/Support-Social-Care/Independent-Living/Equipment-Adaptations

Healthcare Improvement Scotland's iHub also continues to provide practical support and advice to partnerships on improving the procurement and delivery and recycling of community equipment.

However, decisions around what items of equipment are recycled remains a matter for individual Health Boards and local authorities to determine. For some smaller, inexpensive pieces of equipment it may not be cost effective, or practical for the organisation to have these returned and recycled.

To ask the Scottish Government how it is addressing the reported worsening of the issue with cars parking on verges in and around the Scottish Crime Campus in Gartcosh.

31 August to local authorities and Regional Transport Partnerships. It generated 661 responses which are currently being analysed to inform our policy on how best to manage and enforce parking in Scotland. A report on the findings is expected to be published in February, and will be available on both Citizen Space and the Transport Scotland website. Ultimately this will help develop appropriate provisions for the Scottish Government’s Transport Bill, which will be presented along with supporting guidance to the Scottish Parliament for consideration in this Parliamentary session.

To ask the Scottish Government how it ensures that the widest possible subject choice is available to secondary school pupils.

It is the responsibility of local authorities to ensure that their schools deliver a suitably broad curriculum that addresses the needs and aspirations of all their learners. The Scottish Government is working with our national and local partners to encourage secondary schools to work collaboratively with each other, and other partners, to ensure a wide range of options are available.

In every secondary school inspection, Education Scotland is looking at the learning pathways on offer and encouraging schools to provide a range of options to meet the needs of all their young people.

To ask the Scottish Government whether funding for the Robert Burns World Federation has been reduced and, if so, for what reason.

The Robert Burns World Federation has previously been in receipt of funding from the Scottish Government to deliver specific, time-bound events and projects. The Robert Burns World Federation Ltd is a Company Limited by Guarantee (registered charity no SC029099) and questions relating to its other funding sources are not matters for the Scottish Government and should be directed to the Federation.
