Question

To ask the Scottish Government whether it will provide an estimate of the total number of sea lice in salmon farms in each of the last five years, taking into account the number of lice per fish and the biomass of fish on the farms.

Answer

The range of information required to estimate the total number of seal ice in salmon farms each year is not held by the Scottish Government and therefore we cannot provide such an estimate.

However data on average number of sea lice per fish indicates a downward trend in recent years.
