Question reference: S5W-32863

  • Asked by: David Stewart, MSP for Highlands and Islands, Scottish Labour
  • Date lodged: 28 October 2020
  • Current status: Answered by Paul Wheelhouse on 18 November 2020

Question

To ask the Scottish Government, further to the answer to question S5W-26101 by Paul Wheelhouse on 14 November 2019, what estimate it has made of the total cost to public funds of its handling of Pentland Ferries’ unresolved complaint to the European Commission.

Answer

Scottish Government Directorates do not routinely record separately how much staff time and resources they have allocated to individual tasks, and it is therefore not possible to accurately calculate the cost of dealing with Pentland Ferries’ complaints in the way the member has requested.

The European Commission has confirmed that it does not require the Scottish Government to provide any further information in relation to the complaint.
