Question

To ask the Scottish Government what advice it gives to people working, living, or hiking in areas with infected ticks and livestock.

Answer

The best way to prevent a tick-borne infection is to avoid being bitten by a tick. There are a number of simple steps people can take to avoid tick bites, these can be found on the 'avoiding bugs and germs outdoors' webpage on NHS Inform: https://www.nhsinform.scot/bugs-and-germs and in the 'top tips for fighting ticks' video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqLIp-zJJKQ .
