Question
To ask the Scottish Government whether the SQA was aware that the 2020 exam modelling system would result in lower grading of students from certain postcode areas.
Answer
The Scottish Qualifications Authority results as announced on 4 August produced higher increases in the pass rates amongst young people from deprived backgrounds than from any other group and showed that the size of the gap between the most and least disadvantaged young people attaining A-C is narrower under this measure than was the position in 2019.
