That the Parliament congratulates the volunteers of Portlethen and District Voluntary Community Ambulance Association on the delivery of their new “wee blue” ambulance; notes that the community ambulance has been operating in Portlethen, Newtonhill and surrounding areas since 1982 to take older and disabled patients to community groups, and GP and dental appointments; further notes that everyone within the charity is a volunteer, which includes 15 drivers; recognises the contribution of the late community champion, John Godsman from Stonehaven, who dedicated his free time to driving and making sure that the ambulance ran smoothly; understands that John worked to secure the new vehicle for the community; further understands that funds for the upgraded vehicle came from fundraising and grants, or funds from the Newtonhill Common Good Fund, Newtonhill Community Council, Portlethen Town Association and Aberdeenshire Council, as well as from local businesses, Brio Retirement Living, Kepak McIntosh Donald, Macphie of Glenbervie, Michies Chemist, Meikle Carewe Wind Farm and local businessman, Graham Thom, and wishes all the volunteers and service users the best in the future.
